About Us

We are the current students of Bachelor Degree of Business as well as major in Accounting in Sunway College Johor Bahru.  We create a blogger for Integrated Marketing Communication assignment. The purpose that we create this “Mount Austin Food Lovers” blogger is to share the taste of food in Mount Austin. We will describe each of the restaurants that we had experienced and share out the experiences for all the food lovers.

Through our research, we found that there are many restaurants at Taman Mount Austin and most of the restaurants are very attractive for the customers because of their environment and the food taste. In the blog, we had shared out different category of food such as dessert, beverage, buffet. Besides, there are many types of meals such as Korean food, Japanese food, Western food and Chinese food. In the blog, we have deeply described price, location, tastes of each shop.

We hope that other food lovers will notice our food blog and try it all the food in Mount Austin.

'Bao Zhan' Mount Austin

Today is very rare for me to wake up early, so I decided to go outside enjoy my breakfast. I went to Bao Zhan to eat bun, because at the early morning many shop haven’t open yet. 

The decoration of bao zhan is very simple just have some tables and chairs. Here have sell different type of bun, some of bun is their brand develop themselves like custard bun and pumpkin bun. They also have sell package of bun for people can buy it and steam it at home.

I order 2 red bean bun and one cup of milo. Their red bead bun is much bigger than the traditional bao shop. They put the red bean stuffing pretty much. After I ate, I feel much full of my stomach. The price for this is RM 6.20.

Gogigo Mount Austin

This is the price for you to refer. Adults just need to pay RM29  and the child required to pay RM 15 can enjoy unlimited delicious ingredients. The new born baby or the longevity will free of charged.

There are a lot of materials provided in the refrigerator such as meatball, fishball, prawn, beef and chicken slide. The customers can random picked up the ingredients unlimited. If they cannot finish the component that they took, the person in charge will fine for them.

As you can see from the picture above, this is the real situation if you didn't book the seat. 

The operation of GoGiGo is after 6.30pm. It means that you need to phone booking reserve the seat before 6.30pm. If not, they will not provide you the seat.

One Two Eat Mount Austin

One Two Eat is a famous restaurant in Mount Austin. During the lunch time, the crowd never stopped.  The reason is the price of the food is reasonable and there are various types of food to attract hunger.

This is one of the food that I deserved to eat! From the picture, you definitely can see that the skin of chicken chop is extremely crispy and succulence. 

The price is around RM15- 20. Although it is quite a little bit expensive, there also provide french fried with the chicken chop. Therefore, I think it's worth!

The menu shows the popular dish which is Curry Noodles. The sound likes normal but it is quite unique with the curry source.

Tea Garden Mount Austin

 From the picture above, you will notice that Tea Garden located at the corner of the storey in Mount Austin. The attitude of those waiters is quite nice and polite.

 Nasi Lemak

This is the normal dish that sells in Tea Garden.  The price is around RM10-RM20.

The rice is cooked with the coconut milk and it smells very fragrant. There are some peanut and anchovies beside the rice in order to increase the fragrant.

Curry Chicken Rice

This is one of the dishes I extremely love it! This only cost about RM8.50. I highly recommend that the curry lover come to try it now! 

Reminded: Curry Chicken will be sold out after 7pm.

Grandma Kitchen Mount Austin

Grandma Kitchen Mount Austin which is a restaurant that emphasized on basis cooking and just besides BBQ Buffet GoGiGo. Meanwhile, this was the head office and the second branch was located at Taman Bukit Indah.

The environment for this restaurant is extremely cozy. The decoration of the restaurant is parenthood and allow an ambiance to be harmoniously created. 

 Chrysanthemum Fish

This dish called chrysanthemum fish. The texture when I eat this fish is so crispy. There was a lot of customers attracted by the outward appearance. 

Benefit: Reduce high blood pressure, avoid a headache.

Price: around RM20-25.

Stewed Sweet and Sour Pork

This is a unique dish which the pork was soaked with the ice cube. Even though the pork was immersed with the ice, the texture still crispy and soft. It is suitable for all segments of people.

Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake Mount Austin

Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake which operated in Mount Austin is the 6th outlet of Uncle Tetsu Cheesecake.

The main products more emphasized on the original cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, and Kurimi cheese tart. 

Recently, they launched a new flavor which is sweet potato cheesecake. They used the pigment of sweet potato which is the purple color to produce a unique cheesecake. A lot of customers were attracted by the color and buy it for friends and their family.

Now, they are having a promotion. The customers who purchase 5 Kurimi Cheese tarts will enjoy additional one free cheese tarts.

MomoTea Mount Austin

Momo Tea Mount Austin Johor Bahru is the first bubble milk tea store in Malaysia which uses bottle. It started on July 2017 and the second outlet will be opening soon at Kluang on 27 Sept 2017.

The characteristic of Momo Tea is they provide a customize bottle that contain different flavour of drinks to customers. It is a cylindrical bottle with two sizes, L and XL. Besides, the bottle has 3 different colors which are black, pink and transparent with white/black color cover depends on the customer’s preference. Customers can also get a different color of bottle in different days based on the arrangement of the staff. It is a very attractive marketing ways to attract customer’s attention to visit their shop again.  I’m also a regular customer of Momo Tea store and it can’t stop me to go once a week because of the cute and attractive bottle and their signature milk tea. 

The menu of Momo Tea clearly stated that they have three categories of drinks. Those drinks with a pink cup beside are the best selling drinks in their shops. The price is very reasonable as the bottle is free for you.

I highly recommend the flavor “Momo Signature Pearl Milk Tea” to those who love to drink milk tea. I am a big fan of the milk tea series as the milk tea is strong enough and it tastes even better when matched with pearl. Nowadays in Malaysia, the most popular flavour that people would like to pursue is Matcha flavor. Therefore, Momo Tea Store also provides Matcha Latte flavor for the customers to enjoy. It has become one of the hot sales drinks in Momo Tea Store because of the Matcha flavor and the attractive color of the drinks.

Daebap Korean Home Meal Mount Austin

Daebap Korean Home Meal is located at Mount Austin, just beside Sunway College. It is a casual Korean Restaurant that provides cheap and nice Korean cuisines. 

Their menu includes Teokbokki, Tepan Udon, Budae Jigae, Korean Stir Fried Set, Kimchi Ramyeon, Korean Dosirak and others. They are vegetarian-friendly as they have dishes that only contain vegetables.

We tried the Fried King Oyster Mushroom Tomato Ramen. It is very tasty as they added in the fried egg pieces into the tomato soup which enhances the fragrance of the dish. The ramen is perfectly matched with the oyster mushroom as it gives people a good texture in the mouth. It is only at RM13.55!

Next, we ordered their daily special which is the set lunch. It comes in a set which includes brown rice, soup, egg, grilled fish, salad, and sauce. The fish is delicious, it soft but a bit crunchy.

Uncle Jang Korean Mount Austin

Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant is one for a branch which opened at 4th December 2014 in Mount Austin. This restaurant that more emphasized on selling the Spicy Dak-Galbi, Soup, Dak Galbi in Spicy, Ramen, Mushroom Sari and Hot-spicy Dak-Galb.

This is how the Spicy Dak-Galbi look liked. The materials in this dish included cabbage, small pieces of chicken, Korean rice cake and yam.Moreover, you can add on other materials such as ramen, rice cake, kimchi and etc. The choices more than five.

The environment condition of Uncle Jang is ventilation and it was not so smoky.

Uncle Jang has launched a new dish which called sweet chicken wing. This dish is quite popular to customers. The chicken lover must try it out!

Just Want Coffee Mount Austin

JWC café was a unique café which open at factory area. It was inside a refurbished factory in the industrial area of Mount Austin. Its environment was surrounded by large warehouses and greasy car workshops. The difference of JWC café and others is interior decoration with many gunny bags hanging on the ceiling and showing theme of the café.

This cafe gets a good reputation based on their good service. Therefore, the seat of the restaurant almost full during the time of the night (9.00p.m.-12.00p.m.). Cafe’s atmosphere at night very suitable for tea chatting place for friends gathering. 

Expect for the atmosphere there, their menu also very attractive. Based on our experience, we are very recommended this lunch set. The dish is healthy cuisine and not oily which included bread, vegetables, eggs and etc. Every food in this dish is also delicious especially the scrambled eggs very tender and smooth, coupled with tomatoes even tastier. The customers who are the first-time visit must order this dish and the price is around RM20-RM30.

Another food that must try is mixed fruits waffle. The thick freshly baked fluffy waffle made of flour, eggs, milk and sauce was slightly crisp outside, bouncy soft inside, and not overly sweet. Comes with spreads of mixed fruits, jelly, whipped cream and ice cream. There also have other flavors of waffles and the price is around RM15.

JWC factory was homemade their beverage to customers. There has a coffee roasting machine placed in an area and not an ornament. In the numerous beverage, their Iced Mocha is unique with came in a cold brew bottle. The taste is like chocolate milk after shake it and mixes it. It is quite cost-effective to the price of RM16 and the bottle can take it home.

We highly recommend JWC factory 30 to those who enjoyed the quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Come to try their special flavor dish!

Diagon Alley Mount Austin

Diagon Alley is the Malaysia’s first flagship store in Mount Austin. The store was opened in January of this year and still attracted many crowds. Diagon Alley is a Taiwan brand that sells bubble tea and drinks and which is located next to 22 Korea Fried Chicken Factory. There has a unique interior design of deer that represent their store’s logo. Focus on taste, they utilize the fragrance of their store’s tea to compete with other competitors in Mount Austin area. 

The popular drink of Diagon Alley is Royal No.9 Milk Tea. The price is RM6.90(small) and RM7.90(big). The feature of this cup is its fragrance. They choose blueberries and black tea for special baking. There has a faint fragrance of blueberries in your tongue when drinking it. In the mouth, this milk tea is very refreshing, full of fruit and tea leaves.

The cafe is currently trending their special edition drinks which is Northen lights(RM13.90) and Morning Sunshine(RM13.90) drinks. It is milky way gradient beverages and mainly to natural fruit as a beverage base. Northen lights use grape juice as a base, mixed with butterfly pea flower and apple vinegar. The taste is more to sour. Morning Sunshine use mango juice as a base, mixed with butterfly pea flower only. Compare with Northen lights, the taste will be more to sweetness and the appearance is also shinier. The shiny drink’s colors very pretty and attractive towards the female.

Dong Asia Kitchen Mount Austin

On Wednesday, we visited a Japanese Restaurant called “Dong Asia Kitchen”. It has a strong reputation among diners for being a top favorite place to eat. Why? Because they care about the quality of food that is served to the customers, and they also care about customer’s overall dining experience. 

First, let me introduce the most popular dish in the restaurant – Volcano Ramen, which comes in different ingredients. There are a few choices that you can order for this Ramen, which is Seafood, Shabushabu and Charseow. This is probably the hottest and spiciest ramen that I’ve ever tried! 

If you are a spicy lover, this is probably the best choice for you. Many of the customers came here just to challenge themselves to finish this bowl of super spicy ramen. If I were to rate the spiciness of this dish, I will definitely score it with an 8/10. Let me just secretly tell you something.. I actually finished the whole dish without taking a sip of water! I dare you to challenge me!

Price: Around RM18.80 (depends on which type of ingredient you order)

Next, the main character of the restaurant is their bento set. They have a lot of bento choices, and all of them are at the same price – RM15 only! The restaurant also provides delivery service for the customers who ordered more than 10 sets, but the customers are required to make a reservation one day before.

The bento set that we tried on that day is the Sushi Bento. It consists of different types of sushi, which are salmon sushi, egg sushi, tofu sushi, and also crab meat sushi. Besides, they also promote healthy dietary by providing broccoli and carrots which are both rich in fibre that aids in digestion and preventing constipation.
